The findings and conclusions of this report are those of the authors alone and do not necessarily reflect the views of the funder and others we thank below.
The authors would like to thank the group of 133 Kenyan leaders who took the time to respond to questions in our snap poll. Their responses provided insights on the perceived level, value and efficacy of U.S. contributions to Kenya’s development efforts. We greatly appreciate the willingness of Zidisha and GlobalGiving to share their databases on disbursed microloans and grants, which helped shed some light on the people-to-people relationships between individual American donors and Kenyan beneficiaries. We are also grateful to the Kenyan government’s NGOs Coordination Board for sharing their database of all U.S.-based NGOs that are active in Kenya.
This research study was conducted with generous support from the United States Department of State.
